Two checks are often discussed together in Canada: whether a post-secondary institution is a designated learning institution and whether a specific program may support post-graduation work permit eligibility. They are not the same check.

Find the institution on the DLI list

Use IRCC's designated learning institution list and match the institution name, campus and DLI number to the details in your offer. If the names differ, ask the institution to explain the difference before relying on the offer information.

Check the exact program

IRCC states that graduating from a DLI does not automatically make a person eligible for a PGWP. Program eligibility and other requirements matter. Check the current IRCC list and eligibility page, then confirm the exact program and campus with the institution. Requirements may depend on the date of an application, the program and the student's circumstances.

Keep a record of what you checked

Save the official page links and the program details you used, along with the date you checked them. If your plans depend on post-study work, revisit the current government guidance before committing to a program. A general marketing statement is less precise than the published eligibility criteria.
